Adrian Sherwood & Creation Rebel
The iconic Reggae power team embrace the pure joy of the genre, performing their distinctive mix of live band and electronics.
Reggae and Dub pioneers Creation Rebel first worked with Adrian Sherwood in 1977, the height of Punk, when figures such as Lee Scratch Perry and Don Letts merged effortlessly between the two worlds.
Embracing an edge from that world, as well as Funk and advances in production technology, the group, originally the backing band of Reggae DJ Prince Far-I, took the genre in new directions and to new audiences. Their 1980 record Starship Africa set them apart in unmatched creativity, embracing the far-out sounds of Ambient music and becoming a precursor to later Drum & Bass scenes.
