Go Live Final Showcase
MVP Workshops is a Community Interest Company created in 2016 by creative trio, Justin and Sam and Joanna. Having worked in the creative sector, as well as in education, the goal was to create fun and engaging projects for local young people and building confidence and skills through high quality product outcomes. Young people are not only given the practical tools (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Logic Pro) but also life skills embedded through the 5 Major Keys (Attitude/ Behaviour, Attendance/ Punctuality, Confidence, Determination and Teamwork).
The music and videos created in the workshops are original, authentic and entertaining, shedding a positive light on young people. We celebrate our Most Valuable Players by giving them the tools and a platform to shine. Creating hi - quality products to compete with mainstream entertainment, in combination with strong music industry links, makes MVP Workshops a popular and unique youth provider. With a 21% increase in youth violence and continuous negative press about our young people, it is time to promote a positive picture of our Most Valuable Players.
MVP Workshops is currently running the Go Live Project in Partnership with Big Lottery. 21 young people aged 11 -15 from Waltham Forest and neighbouring boroughs are taking part in this Big Lottery Awards for All funded program.
The program will see young people taking part in music production, singing /song writing and media production courses as well as working on their personal and social development. Learners will create instrumentals, write lyrics and record vocals, as well as produce a music video and a behind the scenes short film. The Walthamstow Garden party is the final program day and young people will showcase their songs. Our industry guest speakers Hype and Fever will also be performing.
