Skatepark Jam

The Skatepark Jam brings together all the different riders (skateboard, BMX and stunt scooter) of the park for a competition to decide the best tricks of the day. Competitors are divided into two groups - under 16s and over 16s and it is free to enter. If there is enough interest there might be a 'Rad Dad' competition too, which of course would also be open to any rad mum's who want to get involved.

Music for the jam is provided by Wheel Up Soundsystem and a selection of the finest local DJ's playing reggae, hip hop and jungle to keep the vibes bubbling!

Keep your eyes (and ears) open for the mobile Wheelie Bin Soundsystem around the park where you can play your own tunes (via phone or USB stick) and get your own party started.

Registration opens at 1pm across the weekend with the competition running from 2pm. Please note Under 16's will need parent/guardian permission to enter the competition.

Prizes supplied by Slam City Skates, Supreme, Yes Fam!, THTC, Dogg Scooters, Source BMX, Etnies, Emerica and Sodo Pizza

For younger children and their parents who want to get creative but can't ride the park (yet!) there will be a craft stand where you can make and customise your own fingerboard and build a cardboard skatepark to ride it on - all materials will be provided so just turn up and get involved.

Saturday & Sunday - Make your own fingerboard
Inspired by Spark!Lab
Using a provided kit, create your own fingerboard (scaled 1:6). Shape the deck out of cardboard. Orient and attach two independent trucks. Snap on the wheels. Add your own graphics.

Saturday & Sunday - Design skate obstacles
Use cardboard and other consumable materials to create small models of skate park elements – 1:6 scale, same as fingerboards. Then feel free to test each skate obstacle on its own or combine into a sequence.

Get feedback from other participants, and tweak your designs.

Saturday only - Create You own griptape
Free creative skate workshop with Ashskates - inspiring creativity through a grip tape design workshop. Please bring your own decks.

Sunday only - T Shirt Screen Printing with Lovenskate
Bring your old cloths and up-cycle them with their Screen print workshop.
